I just recently bought a sword, it is in fact a practice blade but I imagine if I wanted to spend the time and energy putting a bevel and a point on it it would be a fairly deadly instrument of combat.

I did not need a back ground check or even to show ID. I was not asked my age, I was asked to acknowledge that if I choose to fight with this sword any injuries I cause or receive are all on me. But that was it.

In many countries this would have been much harder.

In some countries I would not even be able to carry my pocket knife, let alone purchase a sword of any kind.

Seriously don't take our freedoms for granted. Our founding fathers earned them by blood and hoped to safe guard them for us in law.
