I see much in the "news" that is just noise about domestic terrorism, Islam, Middle East heritage, LGBT, and gun laws.
Just a reminder folks. the worst case of domestic terrorism in the modern consciousness was carried out by men who grew up for generations in the US heartland, who claimed to be Christian and who used no guns. Just several barrels full of fertilizer and diesel in a rented moving van. Their target was a symbol and was indiscriminate of age, gender, or sexual preference.
Terrorism is _not_ really about nationality, it is _not_ about religion, it is _not_ about weapons. It is _not_ about social issues. These are simply excuses.
Oddly It is not Hate that drives the engine of terror. It is a person or group, believing so much that they are right that they embrace the idea so completely, that they are justified in punishing those who believe in other ways. They believe it is right to make an example. Hate often contributes to this Ideology, but is the will of humans to decide they know what is best and what is morally and socially wrong that is at the core. "I _know what is_ and you will be forced to understand it, as I see it" It is belief without reason, faith without respect, religion with out meaning.
Terrorism is about forcing people to change how they live through an instrument of fear. Terrorism is about destruction to force your ideas on others.
I believe that until we recognize this, we will never effectively counter any terrorist threat to our safety.
Stop looking for who or what to blame. Stop kneeling to a dictator of fear and shame. Mourn our losses, Honor them as martyrs to freedom and liberty.
Using these deaths as a means of restricting the rights of the American people only makes it a _successful_ act of terrorism.
